Uzbekistan is the second largest economy in the region, with the largest population (as of July 1, 2022, 35.6 million people). According to experts, it has the greatest investment potential, which, in comparison with its neighbors, is associated with a rapidly opening economy, underinvested in previous decades, and cheap labor. Over the past few years, Uzbekistan has carried out structural reforms aimed at opening up the economy, strengthening international relations (both with neighbors and with Western countries) and liberalizing trade. The reforms ensured an increase in investment activity and the restoration of sustainable economic growth.

Uzbekistan's main export partners are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Kyrgyzstan. The main import partners are China, Russia, Korea, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Germany, and the USA.

Among the CIS countries, the main foreign trade partners are Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, which account for 36.8% of foreign trade turnover, among other countries — China, Turkey, Republic of Korea, Germany, Japan, Afghanistan, Latvia, USA, Iran, France, Italy, Lithuania, India, which account for 63.2% of the total foreign trade turnover.

The main foreign investors of Uzbekistan are Russia, China, Germany and Turkey.

Uzbekistan is the leader among the Central Asian countries in terms of absolute demographic growth. Over the past year, the permanent population of Uzbekistan has grown by 712.4 thousand, or 2.1%. The number of births increased by 7.5% this year, the number of deaths, on the contrary, decreased by 0.6%.

The current state of demography and the age structure of the population of Uzbekistan are optimal from an economic point of view. Currently, in Uzbekistan, with 10.5% of the population older than working age, 30.8% younger than working age and a very large proportion of the population (58.7%) of working age, which is a factor contributing to economic growth. A large and growing number of young people, combined with falling birth rates, creates a great potential for Uzbekistan to receive a demographic dividend.

Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was chosen as the venue for the exhibition – the largest city in Central Asia with a population of 2.5 million people and about 2.9 million more people who live in the Tashkent region.
